Shark Boy™ Partner #1: Shark Boy™ has announced the first of his two partners for the 6-man tag team main event on August 24th -- fellow super hero Nick Dinsmore, formerly known as WWE's Eugene! Shark and Dinsmore will team with a third mystery partner to face Cody Hawk and the Irish Airborne.
BPW Five Year Anniversary On Sunday, August 24th, Buckeye Pro Wrestling will celebrate five spectacular years of bringing the most exciting wrestling action to central Ohio! The anniversary show lineup will include all the matches you've been waiting to see, along with plenty of surprises. The anniversary event will be topped off by a 6-man grudge match. BPW Co-Owner Dean Baldwin declared that since Cody Hawk and the Irish Airborne have been getting along so well lately, they will form one team. Shark Boy™ will head up the opposing team, and gets to pick any two partners of his choice. Shark's first partner will be Nick Dinsmore, formerly known as Eugene in the WWE. His second partner? Still a mystery, which has to be worrying Hawk and the Airborne since they can't prepare for an opponent they don't know. Stay tuned for updates as more matches are announced, and click here to reserve your tickets early!
Despite interference from Cody Hawk, Shark Boy™ defeated the Irish Airborne's Dave Crist to retain the BPW Heavyweight Championship. Shark and Crist brawled all over the Zodiacs building, finally ending up back in the ring where a couple of chummers from the finned one took Crist out for the 3-count.
Give Ed Gonzales an A for effort -- he almost convinced Dean Baldwin to cancel Heather Owens scheduled bout against TNA Knockout Traci Brooks. But Baldwin had a better idea ... an impromptu tag team match pitting Baldwin and Brooks against Gonzales and Owens! Baldwin softened up Ed Gonzales, but it was Traci Brooks who pulled out all the stops, finally pinning Heather Owens for the win. Later, lucky BPW fans got the best souvenir of all: a chance to have their picture taken in the ring, up close and personal with Ms. Brooks!
Sweet Lou Roberts narrowly defeated Scary Garry to win the "Luck of the Irish" gauntlet battle at Slammin' Shamrock Sunday. Jerrod West, Sgt. Ledbetter and Ganger each scored falls during the gauntlet match, earning them a place in the drawing to determine who will face Roberts at the next event. West drew the lucky Shamrock, but he didn't have long to celebrate before an irate Sweet Lou gave West a taste of what their upcoming match might bring.
After Ed Gonzales lost his second tag team bout of the evening, this time with long-time partner Jake Simmons as they faced former champs Todd Mullins & Donny Redd, Gonzales had his own meltdown at Simmons' expense. It took most of the BPW security staff and a threatened suspension by Shawn Stidham to tear Gonzales away from Simmons. Meanwhile, Sami Callihan and Darrell Hazel lost their final contest as a team. The stipulations stated that if they didn't win at Slammin' Shamrock Sunday, they could never team in BPW again. But apparently that's fine with Callihan & Hazel, who came to blows after the frustrating loss to Tom Bellman & Dustin Thomas. There is some good news on the tag team front: new #1 contenders for the Tag Team gold. Mullins and Redd's win catapulted them into the top position, earning them a shot at the belts at the upcoming Five Year Anniversary event.
